Austin Peay Upends Cougars

         CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- The SIUE women's tennis team fell to 4-9 on the season with a loss Frirday at Austin Peay.
         The Cougars will have to shake the loss quickly as they have three matches in the coming week. SIUE will have its final road match of the season Wednesday in Cape Girardeau, Mo., when it faces Southeast Missouri State. The Cougars will then return home for matches on Friday and Sunday against Saint Louis and Lewis.
         The Cougars couldn't get anything going early in doubles as Ali Wulfers and Kelsey Laird fell in No. 1 doubles 8-3 and Stephanie Clark and Amanda Niebur fell in No. 2 doubles 8-2. The Cougars lost by default at No. 3 doubles as they only had five players in the match. The 3-0 doubles victory gave Austin Peay the team doubles point.
         In singles Boeckman, Wulfers, Laird, and Clark would all lose their respective matches in straight sets. At No. 5 singles, Niebur almost pulled off a victory, losing to Brittany Hays 1-6, 6-2, 10-8.
