EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The SIUE women's tennis team opened up the indoor season with a 5-1 loss to Eastern Illinois at the Edwardsville YMCA Saturday.

Carli Connors was the lone winner for the Cougars, dispatching EIU's Cara Huck 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.

After EIU clinched the meet by winning the other five singles matches, the meet was called due to time constraints.

EIU is now 1-1 overall while the Cougars fell to 0-4.
