EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville non-conference men's soccer schedule came to a close Sunday as the Cougars tied Oral Roberts 0-0 at Korte Stadium.

SIUE closed out the non-conference schedule with a 5-4-1 record. That's the second best non-conference record in the Missouri Valley Conference behind No. 13-ranked Creighton, which is 6-1 outside of the MVC.

The Cougars will get their first taste of MVC play Saturday when they play host to Bradley in a 7 p.m. game at Korte Stadium. Bradley, which also has yet to play a conference game this season, holds a 4-5-1 overall record heading into the contest.

"We are very excited to be a part of the Missouri Valley, and it's going to a great night against Bradley for homecoming," said SIUE Head Coach Kevin Kalish.

On Sunday, both teams had scoring opportunities but none that were able to find the back of the net. SIUE perhaps had a few more chances as it outshot Oral Roberts 15-10 overall and 6-3 in the two overtime periods.

"We have been pretty good as of late but tonight we were off a bit," said Kalish.

Nick Collico recorded his second straight shutout and lowered his goals against average to 0.98 this season. "Nick Collico was very good again as a positive note," said Kalish. Collico recorded five saves and at least one in each period.

Kalish said the Cougars needed to play with more urgency as they headed to goal. Randy Roy and Peter Kelly led the Cougars with three shots each. Benny Jeffery and Matt Spiess added two each.
