Creighton is 4-0-1 (13 points) after having its four-game winning streak snapped by the Cougars. Missouri State is 4-0-1 (13 points) after blanking Bradley 1-0.

"We're proud of the guys' efforts," said SIUE Head Coach Kevin Kalish. "We were down two goals and to get a point and a result like this. It's something that not too many teams in the Missouri Valley Conference have done over the last several years."

SIUE's Chris Anzalone scored both goals for the Cougars in the second half. He now has a team-leading seven goals for the Cougars.

Kalish said he's proud of how Anzalone has turned his senior season into his best season with the Cougars, "He's playing with a lot of confidence right now," Kalish said.

Creighton got off to a strong start with a score just 43 seconds into the game. Ethan Finlay scored his 12th goal of the season with a double assist by Dion Acoff and Brent Kallman.

The Bluejays, now 11-3-1, picked up a second first-half goal from Josh Moran. He scored on a breakaway with a pass from Finley at 42:24

The second half would be all Anzalone and the Cougars. Anzalone bent the ball into the goal past goalkeeper Brian Holt from 16 yards out at 49:56. Kevin Bielicki provided the assist.

Kalish said the Cougars were pressing in the second half. SIUE was taking chances down a goal late.

Anzalone would score the equalizer at 86:19. He connected from 10 yards out with a pair of crisp passes from Jared Tejada and Brian Groark.

Creighton outshot SIUE 14-10. Cougar goalkeeper Nick Collico finished with five saves.

"Creighton is a fantastic and well-coached team" said Kalish. "It was a great soccer game."
