Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches in a
6-1 triumph over Southeast Missouri in women's college tennis.
The Cougars collected their first victory of the season and
improved to 1-4. SEMO fell to 0-2.
Amanda
Miller led the Cougars in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over
Diana Sonoslovic at No. 4 singles. Kelsey Laird also
was a straight-sets winner over Ashlton Hartley 7-5, 7-5.
Ali
Wulfers split sets with SEMO's Laura Garcia. Wulfer took the
opening set 6-0. Garcia won the second set 6-3. Wulfers collected
the third-set tiebreaker 10-3 to win the match.
Maggie
Boeckman and Laura Horning also
were winners at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Both lost the first set
before taking the final two sets.
SIUE swept all three doubles. Boeckman and Carli Connors
powered SIUE with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
SEMO's only victory came at No. 1 singles over Connors 6-2,
6-2.
