Results

ST. LOUIS - SIUE women's tennis suffered a 7-0 defeat Friday against Saint Louis University at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

The Cougars, 2-13, struggled in the singles with all six matches finishing in straight sets. SLU improved to 9-5 overall with the victory.

SIUE was strongest in fighting for the doubles point. Carli Connors and Maggie Boeckman went to a tiebreaker with SLU's Jenny Nalepa and Casey Miller at No. 1 doubles only to drop the tiebreaker game 7-5.

Amanda Niebur and Ali Wulfers also put together a strong double match at No. 3 doubles before being defeated 8-6 to SLU's Mia Elmore and Caitlin McKenna.

Next up for the SIUE women's tennis team is a home match next Saturday. The Cougars entertain IUPUI in a 3:30 p.m. match at the Edwardsville YMCA's indoor courts.
