O'FALLON, Ill. - The SIUE women's tennis team was swept 4-0 against an unbeaten Saint Louis squad Friday at the St. Clair Tennis Club.

"We ran into a team playing at a very high level," said SIUE Head Coach Jason Coomer. "We have to find a way to respond to that quality of play in the future."

Saint Louis remained perfect in dual matches at 7-0 while the Cougars fell to 4-3 on the season.

In a match played to decision, the Billikens breezed through doubles play taking all three positions to get the opening point.

SIUE could not recover from the start as Saint Louis continued its strong play with three straight-set wins in singles to close the match.

"We have to regroup as a team and get ready for another tough match on the road at SIU Carbondale," added Coomer.

The Cougars head to Carbondale Sunday morning for a matchup against the Salukis.
