EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE men's cross country wins its second consecutive race in the Cross Country Challenge.
The Cougars had a near-perfect score of 16, with all seven runners finishing in the top eight.
Junior Clint Kliem took first place with a time of 25:52.3. He was followed by junior Nick Moore (25:52.7), junior Scott Woodard (25:57.0), and sophomore Keith Meyer (26:00.0).
The top four SIUE runners also took the top four overall places in the meet.
"The atmosphere was outstanding and it is always nice to get a win in front of our home crowd," said Head Coach Eileen McAllister.
Finishing out the top five for SIUE was senior Luke Padesky with a time of 26:29.5, which was good enough for sixth place.
"We are young, enthusiastic, and making progress," said McAllister.
The Cougars race again on Sat. Sept 27 at the Roy Griak Invitational.
