CHARLESTON, S.C. – SIUE wrestling picked up its second Southern Conference dual meet victory of the season with a 32-11 victory over Campbell.

The Cougars also dropped a 29-15 team decision to The Citadel. SIUE now stands at 5-15 overall and 2-3 in the SoCon.

Angelo Silvestro and Jake Residori each won their four matches for the Carolinas trip. At 141 pounds, Silvestro defeated the The Citadel Tyler Buckiso by injury default and received a forfeit from Campbell. Residori took a 9-4 decision over The Citadel's Kenneth Radford, 9-4 and dispatched Campbell's Monte Britton by technical fall.

Despite a pair of losses to start the Citadel match, the Cougars made a push to get back in with victories from Silvestro, Connor McMahon, Residori, and Derek Nagel.

"We brought ourselves back and had a chance to defeat The Citadel, but gave made some technical mistakes," said SIUE Head Coach Jeremy Spates.

The Cougars were boosted by four forfeits from Campbell

"We're happy to get out of this road trip healthy and we're off next weekend so we'll be training for the next two weeks," said Spates.
