Frogner Leads Cougars Against Missouri

Box Score

COLUMBIA, Mo. – SIUE women's tennis competed against Missouri Wednesday but were able only to pick up a victory from Mia Frogner at No. 2 singles in a 6-1 loss.

Frogner also scored the lone point for the Cougars in singles play, overcoming Mizzou's Madison Rhyner 2-6, 6-1, 7-6.

The combination of Frogner and Monique Krutak also won their doubles match, moving the pair's record to 2-0 on the year.

Despite the outcome, Head Coach Amanda Pratzel drew on the positives she saw in her team.

"We were able to play outdoors today and handled the elements really well," said Pratzel. "We put ourselves in a position to win in multiple matches, and we were able to take away two wins against a Southeastern Conference opponent. Matches like this will help prepare us for anybody on our schedule."

The Cougars return home for Saturday and Sunday matches against Chicago State and Missouri State.
