Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis won a decisive victory over Chicago State 4-1 Saturday.
The Cougars were forced to play one player short due to injury, which accounted for Chicago State's only point.
The combination of Mia Frogner and Monique Krutak won their third straight doubles match, improving their record to 3-0 this season. Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halverson won their doubles match to earn the point for SIUE. Aranda and Halverson improve their record to 3-9 during the 2014-15 season.
Aranda (8-3), Krutak (7-7), and Halverson (7-9) recorded singles wins to ensure the victory for the Cougars.
Frogner and Haley Ilcewicz did not finish their matches. Frogner was leading 3-0 in her third set and Ilcewicz was still in her first match.
"Chicago State was a solid team," said Head Coach Amanda Pratzel. "We came out and played with confidence and handled the big points well today. Now we need to regroup and get ready for tomorrow's match."
SIUE plays Sunday at noon against Missouri State at the Edwardsville YMCA Meyer Center.
