Box Score PEORIA, Ill. - Three Cougars found singles wins, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Braves.
The loss was the Cougars' first since Jan.28 against Missouri. They are now 3-3 during the spring season.
Neither SIUE doubles team was able to find a victory, giving the Braves a 1-0 edge going into singles play.
"Credit to Bradley and how they came out. They played doubles how we have been playing and focusing all year, but they beat us to it," said Head Coach Amanda Pratzel.
Lexi Aranda, Mia Frogner, and Sierra Halverson were each able to win their singles matches. Frogner took her opponent to three sets after losing the first. Aranda and Halverson improve their records during the spring season to 4-2, while Frogner is now 4-1.
"We came out in singles and put ourselves in a position to win, but we just didn't capitalize on the big points," said Pratzel. "We just have to regroup and get ready for Western Illinois tomorrow morning."
SIUE plays Sunday against Western Illinois at 11:30 a.m. The match will be held in the Edwardsville YMCA Meyer Center.
