EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to Murray State Friday, moving their Ohio Valley Conference record to 2-1 overall.

Sophomore Lexi Aranda tallied a singles win over Andrea Eskaviatza. With the win, Aranda stays undefeated in OVC play, moving her record to 3-0.

Aranda and doubles partner Sierra Halverson won their doubles match 8-5. Also recording a singles win was Monique Krutak, who also remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0.

"We were right with them the entire time, we just didn't pull out a couple close matches," said Head Coach Amanda Pratzel. "Tomorrow is a new day so we will regroup and come out tomorrow with energy and confidence."

The Cougars face Austin Peay Saturday in a noon OVC matchup. The match will be played at the SIUE Tennis Courts.
