Box Score CHICAGO – SIUE women's tennis won 6-1 over Chicago State to earn the squad's second straight victory.
SIUE improves to 3-2 on the spring season.
The Cougars started off the match earning the doubles point. The pair of Mia Frogner and Madeline Hill, playing in the No. 1 position, earned their fourth straight doubles victory of the spring season. The pair of Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halverson at No. 2 also remain undefeated at 4-0 in doubles play.
Earning singles victories, all in straight sets, were Aranda at No. 1, Frogner at No. 2, Hill at No. 3, Ann-Christine Link at No. 5 and Halverson at No. 6.
The win is the fifth straight for freshman Link, who remains undefeated in 2016.
"I'm proud of our efforts today as a group," said SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller. "The focus was solid throughout singles and doubles. We look forward to Butler Feb. 20."
The Cougars take a break next weekend and return home to face Butler Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Edwardsville YMCA.
