Box Score OXFORD, Ala. – For the fourth consecutive season, SIUE softball has advanced to the title round of the Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championships.
SIUE, 41-12, advanced to play Jacksonville State with a 7-1 victory over UT Martin in a 10 a.m. elimination game. SIUE will need two victories today over Jacksonville State to claim the OVC title in this double elimination tournament.
Haley Chambers-Book was the winning pitcher for the Cougars and improved to 27-7. Brooke Kennedy took the loss for the Skyhawks is 23-7.
Alyssa Heren highlighted a five-run fourth inning with her team-leading seventh home run of the season. Heren was 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Sarah Lopesilvero collected two RBIs and Whitney Lanphier recorded two RBIs on her first hit of the season in the fourth inning.
