Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. – The SIUE women's tennis team fell to New Orleans 6-1 at the University Tennis Center Thursday.
"We played against two very solid teams on this road trip," SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller said. "We lost some close sets versus Nicholls State and couldn't get the momentum going in our favor."
The Cougars (0-11) picked up their lone point of the day when Raillane Kamdem defeated Claudette Gilhespie of New Orleans 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.
"Raillane was very competitive in both matches, and pulled out the tiebreaker for the win" Mueller added. "She is starting to be rewarded for her efforts."
The Musketeers (5-4) duo of Trang Dao and Anja Luethi defeated SIUE's Lara Tupper and Ann-Christine Link 6-2, in No. 1 doubles.
"Now we will recharge the batteries before getting ready to host Jacksonville State," Mueller said.
The Cougars will open their Ohio Valley Conference Schedule when they will play host to the Gamecocks March 17 at 10 a.m.
