THE COUGARS: Play their first of two consecutive home games Saturday night against Drake. 

BACK IN THE VALLEY: After playing four seasons in the Mid-American Conference, SIUE officially returns to the Missouri Valley Conference, where the Cougars played as affiliate members from 2010-2016. SIUE won a pair of tournament championships, one regular season championship and amassed a record of 25-13-7 in the MVC.

LAST TIME: Loyola outshot SIUE 14-3 and held the Cougars without a shot in the second half in a 3-0 loss in Chicago Sunday.

SERIES STUFF: SIUE is facing Drake for the 17th time and the first time since the Cougars departed the Missouri Valley after the 2016 season. In eight tries, Drake's only win in Edwardsville came in the MVC Championship game in 2015.

FEAST OR FAMINE: Prior to the setback at Loyola, the Cougars had scored seven goals combined in their two previous matches. Before that, it was a single goal in their previous four matches combined. 

LEADERS: Despite Sunday's outcome, SIUE remains the the third-highest scoring team in the Valley (1.50 avg.)The Cougars are third in total shots (100) and have generated the third most corners (40). Three SIUE players, Max Broughton, Pau Palacin and Alex Segura, are tied for fdifth in the league with three goals each.  Kelby Phillips is tied for second in assists with four. He is 33rd Nationally in assists per game (.50). He is 56th in total assists.
