THE COUGARS: Face their first road test in Missouri Valley Conference play Wednesday night at Evansville.
BACK IN THE VALLEY: After playing four seasons in the Mid-American Conference, SIUE officially returns to the Missouri Valley Conference, where the Cougars played as affiliate members from 2010-2016. SIUE won a pair of tournament championships, one regular season championship and amassed a record of 25-13-7 in the MVC.
LAST TIME: Bradley defeated SIUE in a shootout Saturday in Edwardsville. The Cougars dropped a 4-3 decision in double overtime. The three goals tied a season high for SIUE. The Cougars have scored three goals in a game three times this season.
SERIES STUFF: SIUE is facing Evansville for the 23rd time all-time. The Cougars own a 12-6-2 in the all-time series, including a 4-2-1 record in Missouri Valley Conference play.
SEVEN-UP: The Cougars have scored seven goals combined in the last two meetings with Evansville. SIUE won a 3-0 contest during the 2021 spring season and won 4-3 in 2019.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: SIUE freshman forward
Alex Segura picked up MVC Offensive Player of the Week honors Sept. 6. Segura netted the first two goals of his college career, including the overtime game-winner against Air Force.
LEADERS: At 1.38 goals per game, SIUE is the now the third-highest scoring team in the Valley. The Cougars are third in total shots (81) and have generated the third most corners (30).
Kelby Phillips is tied for fourth in scoring (six points) and tied for second in in assists (4). Phillips is 13th nationally in assists per game (0.67).
