THE COUGARS: Are looking to bounce back after a hard-fought loss to Evansville Saturday. It was SIUE's first loss when leading at the half (3-1-1) and also when scoring first (4-1-2).

CONFERENCE CALL: Including Wednesday, the Cougars have three games remaining, all in Missouri Valley Conference play.

FIVE ALIVE: SIUE's five goals against USI were the Cougars' most in a game since returning to Division I in 2008 and the first since a 5-0 win over Wisconsin-Parkside in September 2007.  

SQUAD GOALS: SIUE remains third in the MVC with 15 goals scored. The Cougars also are third in total points in the league with 44.

LEADER: Paul Palacin is 12th in the NCAA with three game-winning goals this season. He is fifth in the MVC in total goals with five. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Palacin earned Offensive Player of the Week honors in the MVC Sep. 6 after scoring three goals, including two game winners, against Lindenwood and Southern Indiana.

SERIES STUFF: Missouri State has won the last two meetings, but SIUE holds a 12-5-2 lead in the all-time series. 

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Eric Bauche and Sam Gomez have split time in goal this year, each making six starts. Bauche has a 1.00 goals against average, which is third in the league. His three shutouts are sixth. Gomez has a 1.67 goals against average and has made 14 saves.
