ATHENS, Ohio  -  SIUE wrestling dropped a Mid-American Conference dual fixture to the Ohio Bobcats by a 34-6 margin on Saturday evening.

The Red & White notched a pair of impressive victories in the contest - first in the 157 match, as Cardeionete Wilson notched a 6-3 decision. Moments later, Colton McKiernan registered a 3-2 decision win in the 285 match. Caleb Tyus also put together an impressive showing in the 149 match, narrowly falling 3-1 against the 32nd-ranked wrestler in the 149-pound weight class. 

"It was not the best night for Cougar Wrestling," said SIUE Head Coach Jeremy Spates following the match. "We fought hard in many of the matches, but we need to start wrestling smarter. It has been a rough year with injuries and not having our whole lineup in at the same time. That being said, we are a better team than we are showing on the mat and we need to figure it out soon."

The Cougars, which now sit at 1-12 and 1-5 in MAC competition, will return to the friendly confines of First Community Arena for the final time this season on February 18th to host Kent State.
