DEKALB, Ill. -
Austin Andres picked up a win at 197 pounds Sunday as SIUE wrestling finished the regular season with a 35-3 loss at Northern Illinois.
"It was not the ending to the tough dual season that we wanted," said SIUE Head Coach
Jeremy Spates.
Andres bested NIU's Tristan Guaman 4-2.
Aric Bohn picked up a victory in an extra match, defeating heavyweight Colin Jagielski 8-4.
"We came away with a few individual wins with Andres and Bohn," said Spates.
SIUE now will turn its attention to the Mid-American Conference Championships, which take place March 4-5 in Athens, Ohio.
"We are hoping to get healthy for the MAC Tournament and get some NCAA qualifiers," added Spates.
