• SIUE women's basketball is honoring eight players who will be appearing for the final time at First Community Arena. They are Prima Chellis, Madison Hackstadt, Mikala Hall, Mikia Keith, Masyn McWilliams, Gabby Nikitinaite, Allie Troeckler and Kelsie Williams,
• SIUE is set as the No. 7 seed for next week's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Evansville, Indiana. SIUE's first-round opponent will either be UT Martin or Eastern Illinois depending on the outcome of today's games.
• The OVC Tournament, which begins March 2 in Evansville, Indiana, will be a merit-based system whereas the No. 5 seed plays the No. 8 seed and the No. 6 seed plays the No. 7 seed in the opening round. On day two, the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds play the winners. Those winners move on to the semifinals against the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds.
• SIUE broke a five-game losing streak against Morehead State earlier this season with a 77-52 win in Morehead, Kentucky.
• Nikitinaite was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for a fifth time Tuesday. She scored 25 points in the win over Tennessee State.
• Mikayla Kinnard scored a career-high 29 points Thursday at Tennessee State and added a career-best five steals.
• SIUE recorded its biggest turnaround of the season. After falling to Austin Peay earlier this season 76-55, the Cougars defeated the Governors 71-61 Thursday at First Community Arena.
• The Cougars grabbed six offensive rebounds against Austin Peay. That matched the season low set against Missouri (12/2).
• SIUE has made 401 free throws this season, which is 105 more than Morehead State has attempted this season.
