Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - It doesn't get much closer than a game that goes to the last shot.

Eastern Illinois' Kira Arthofer hit a driving shot in the lane with 0.4 seconds left as the Panthers edged SIUE women's basketball 70-68 at First Community Arena Monday.

"I was really proud of our group," said SIUE Head Coach Samantha Quigley Smith. "We had a fight that we didn't have last week."

Allie Troeckler hit a free throw that tied the game 68-68 with eight seconds left. In a game that featured 10 lead changes and seven ties, neither team backed down.

Gabby Nikitinaite led SIUE in scoring and rebounding with 15 points and nine rebounds. She was one of four players in double figures for the Cougars.

Mikia Keith hit four three-pointers, all in the second half.

Keith said after she missed her first four shots her teammates continued to find her. She made the last four, all from three-point range for 12 points.

"My teammates set me up for success," Keith said,

Mikayla Kinnard scored 14 points.while Troeckler added 10 for SIUE.

Lariah Washington scored 22 to lead the Panthers. Jordyn Hughes scored 16, and Arthofer made double digits with 10 on her final shot.

Both teams ended the game with 30 rebounds and 12 fouls.

SIUE is back at First Community Arena Thursday for the Education Day game. The Cougars play UT Martin with an 11 a.m. tipoff as many of the areas youth will be on hand to cheer the Cougars.
