LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars fed off the energy of a massive crowd at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center en route to a 4-2 win over in-state rival Bradley last Friday afternoon. SIUE again started off action with the doubles point, earning wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. The Red & White notched wins on the singles courts to clinch the match, as Jordan Schifano earned a straight-set win in No. 1 action followed by Jill Lambrechts adding to her winning streak with a straight-set win in the No. 2 position. Fabiola Perez earned a win on the No. 4 court to clinch the match. 

BEST IN CLASS
SIUE's potent doubles play was recognized as the best in the OVC for two consecutive weeks to start the season, as Caitlyn Sporing and Melissa Vizcardo's impressive efforts garnered the duo's first OVC Doubles Team of the Week honors for the week of February 21. This award followed the announcement, which saw Vanessa Reinicke and Jordan Schifano earn Doubles Team of the Week the week prior. The Cougars' Jill Lambrechts also earned the Singles Player of the Week award for the week of February 21 - Lambrechts who has put together a seven-match winning streak in No. 2 singles, earned SIUE's first singles honor of the 2022 campaign.
 
WE'LL SEE YOU IN FLORIDA
Following the Cougars' trip to Bowling Green, SIUE will head to the Sunshine State for a pair of neutral-site fixtures in Orlando. The Cougars will take on Radford on Tuesday before closing out their trip with a Thursday night match against Sacred Heart.

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers enter Saturday's contest at 8-4 overall. The 'Tops are playing all but one OVC tennis team in their non-conference slate. They earned a 4-0 win against UT Martin on January 30 and notched a 7-0 win over Tennessee State on February 27, before dropping a 4-3 decision to Austin Peay on Friday night. Western Kentucky and SIUE have played one similar opponent so far this season, as both squads earned 7-0 wins over IUPUI. The Hilltoppers accomplished the feat in Bowling Green, while SIUE earned the win in Indianapolis.
