CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – SIUE golf's season came to an end Wednesday with a loss in the semifinal match of the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Cougars fell to Tennessee Tech by a score of 4-0-1.

"Unfortunately, we didn't have our best today," SIUE Head Coach Derrick Brown said. "But, I am proud of our guys and how we played and handled ourselves all week."

Brooks Jungbluth tied his match with Nick Sutton for the only scoring for the Cougars in the match.

Mark McDearman bested Luke Ludwig. Jackson Skeen defeated Anthony Ruthey. Presley Mackelburg fell to Sean Anderson. Bracton Womack downed TJ Baker.

The Cougars advanced to the semifinals thanks to finishing fourth in the stroke play portion of the championship at 900 (299-293-305).

"It's an accomplishment to get to match play and have a chance at a regional bid," Brown added. "We will learn from this and be ready when we get the opportunity again."
