LAST GAME: Molly Sheehan, KK Rodriguez, and Sofie Lowis all scored in double figures as SIUE downed Morehead State on Thursday night at First Community Arena. SIUE won the rebounding battle 43-37 and shot 81 percent (25-31) at the free throw line, giving the Cougars their fourth victory since beginning conference play.
CAREER MARKS: Junior forward Olivia Clayton collected a career-best nine rebounds while sophomore guard Sheehan connected on a career-high four three-pointers.
CRASH THE GLASS: SIUE ranks third in the conference averaging 34.6 rebounds per contest. Ajulu Thatha is tied for second in the OVC averaging 2.33 offensive rebounds per game this season. Junior forward Clayton ranks eighth in the league averaging 1.94.
DO IT FOR FREE: The Cougars rank second in the OVC and 57th in the NCAA averaging 14.06 free throws made per game. SIUE also ranks second in the OVC and 67th in the country in free throw attempts per game at 21.40. Thatha's 93 attempts leads the conference and ranks 63rd in the country. Her 68 free throws made leads the OVC and ranks 72nd nationally.
LET IT FLY: SIUE ranks third in the OVC averaging 19.7 three-point attempts per game. The Cougars rank fourth connecting on an average of 5.5 threes per game.
LOWIS IS LEADING: Lowis ranks 11th in the OVC averaging 11.83 points per contest. She also ranks second in the league and 83rd in the country with 114 three-point attempts. Her four three pointers on Jan. 5 vs. Tennessee State tied a career high.
SHOOT YOUR SHOT: Lowis and Sheehan are tied for fourth in the OVC connecting on 1.7 three-pointers per contest. Lowis leads SIUE with 31 three-pointers while Sheehan sits at 30. Sheehan's 18 points at NIU on Dec. 17 marked a career high.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE: Thatha has recorded six double-doubles this season, including last Saturday vs. Lindenwood. She is averaging 16.7 points and 9.9 rebounds since beginning league play. The senior ranks second the conference in rebounds per game (7.6) and double doubles.
