HOME OPENER
Saturday marks the home opener and the beginning of the regular season for the Cougars. Home matches are played at the Edwardsville Y for indoor competition.

YEAR FIVE
Adam Albertsen begins his fifth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous four years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 16-5 dual meet record.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The Cougars return the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in Jill Lambrechts and the two-time All-Conference member Jordan Schifano to help lead the team into the spring season. Seniors Melissa Vizcardo and Caitlyn Sporing bring their experience to both the singles and doubles lineup.

FROM COACH ALBERTSEN
"We are extremely excited to kick off the season and open up the home courts. The mixture of experienced veterans and strong freshmen has led to a great blend in building this team. I look forward to us being tested by UIS and seeing us compete at a high level."

SCOUTING UIS
The University of Illinois Springfield is coming off a 9-9 season and held wins over new OVC members Southern Indiana and Lindenwood in 2022.
