NEWTON, Kan. – TJ Baker collected his fourth straight top-10 finish, tying for eighth place, while SIUE golf finished 10th at Wichita State's Grier Jones Shocker completed Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
The Cougars shot a final-round 293 Tuesday and finished at 865 for the tournament. Wichita State won the team title at 841. Seton Hall was second at 844 and Rice was third at 847.
Baker finished eight-under with rounds of 68-68-72. He has finished in the top 10 in all four tournaments this season for the Cougars and hasn't yet shot a round over par.
Brady Kaufmann (-2) tied for 21st after posting a final round of 74 Tuesday. Also, for the Cougars Preston Bily, playing as an individual, finished at three-over 219 to tie for 40th. The 219 was the lowest 54-hole total for his career so far.
Luke Ludwig tied for 59th at 222, Anthony Ruthey tied for 68th at 225 and Brent Reintjes tied for 74th at 227.
Oklahoma State's Rayhan Thomas (-16) earned Individual Medalist honors by four strokes over Rice's Jay Kirchdorfer.
The Cougars will play one final tournament in the fall, when they travel to North Carolina for Old Dominion's Kilmarlic Invitational Oct. 22-24.
