NEWTON, Kan. – TJ Baker is just one shot back of the lead, Brady Kaufmann is among the top 15 and SIUE golf is ninth after two rounds at Wichita State's Grier Jones Invitational.
Baker shot back-to-back rounds of 68 and is among a group of three at eight-under, tied for sixth. Five players are tied for the lead and nine-under.
Kaufmann carded rounds of 71-69 and is four-under and tied for 15th.
Preston Bily, who is playing as an individual, and Anthony Ruthey each sit a three-over and are tied for 53rd. Luke Ludwig is tied for 70th at 149 (+5). Brent Reintjes is 80th at 153.
The Cougars are four-under 572 after rounds of 291-281. Wichita State leads the team competition at 556. Rice (561) and UTRGV (563) round out the top three.
SIUE will pair with UT Arlington for Tuesday's final round which gets underway at 8:30 a.m.
