WESTERN ILLINOIS RECAP
SIUE had little trouble with the Leathernecks, defeating them 7-0 at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center. The Cougars started by collecting wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles.
Jordan Schifano and Jill Lambrecht bested Maria Rybka and Lara Diniz de Souza 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Jaiden McKee and
Caitlyn Sporing defeated Lucky Kancherla and Aina Cortina-Pou 6-1 at No. 3 doubles. Schifano led the Cougars in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lorena Catellanos at No. 3 singles.
THREE IN A ROW
SIUE has won the doubles point in all three dual meets this spring. The Cougars are 7-0 in doubles matches with two more being unfinished due to the doubles point being clinched.
SERIES VS. BRADLEY
The Braves hold a 6-5 edge in the series since the Cougars moved to the Division I level. SIUE has the win in the last matchup, 4-2, last season in Edwardsville. The Cougars are 1-5 against the Braves on the road.
SCOUTING BRADLEY
The Braves are coming off a pair of 6-1 losses this past weekend in Omaha, Nebraska, drop duals to Creighton and Omaha,
YEAR FIVE
Adam Albertsen is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous four years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 16-5 dual meet record.
