OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Second-seeded SIUE takes on third-seeded Eastern Illinois in the semifinals starting at 2 p.m. Top-seeded Southeast Missouri will face fourth-seeded Tennessee State in the other semifinals beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern Illinois advanced with a 4-0 win over Southern Indiana. Tennessee State advanced with a 4-1 victory over Lindenwood.

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
The winners of Saturday's semifinal matches will play for the OVC title Sunday at noon.

OVC HONORS
SIUE women's tennis players left with plenty of hardware after Thursday's OVC postseason banquet. Jill Lambrechts and Jordan Schifano were named first team All-OVC. Amelia Gorman and Marguax Guibal Britt were named second team All-OVC. Gorman was tabbed the OVC Freshman of the Year. SIUE Head Coach Adam Albertsen was selected as the OVC Coach of the Year.

STRONG SEASON
SIUE holds a 118-51 record in singles matches this season (69.8 percent). Jordan Schifano leads the team at No. 3 singles with a 22-5 record. Next in singles wins is Amelia Gorman (20), Jill Lambrechts (19), Margaux Guibal Britt (14), Caitlyn Sporing (14) and Jaiden McKee (12).

PREVIOUSLY VS. EASTERN ILLINOIS
SIUE defeated Eastern Illinois 5-1 in an April 8 match in Charleston, Illinois.

SERIES MATCHUP
SIUE and Eastern Illinois are tied 8-8 all-time. The Cougars have won the last three meetings between the two schools.

YEAR FIVE
Adam Albertsen is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous four years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 16-5 dual meet record.
