WEEKLY HONORS
SIUE women's tennis standoutsÂ
Jill Lambrechts andÂ
Jordan Schifano were selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week while Lambrechts earned the additional honor as the OVC Player of the Week. Lambrechts, a redshirt junior from Beerse, Belgium, did not lose a set for the week with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Viola Cipriani from McKendree as well as Southern Indiana's Lauren Rowe 6-1, 6-2. She improved to 17-7 in singles. Lambrechts and Schifano, a junior from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, went 2-0 for the week and are now 13-4 overall at No. 1 doubles. The duo defeated McKendree's Viola Cipriani and Camilla Fonseca 6-1 as well as helped the Cougars secure the doubles point in a sweep over Southern Indiana against Lauren Rowe and Madison Windham 6-1.
KEEPING PACE
SIUEÂ women's tennis looks to keep pace with the top two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri are tied at 3-0 in the league standings while SIUE is just one-half match behind at 3-1.
FINALE
SIUE women's tennis has one more match left next Friday at William Woods in a nonconference battle. SIUE will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament April 21-23 in Paducah, Kentucky.
THE BIG 2-0
Schifano holds a team-leading 20-5 overall singles record and is 14-3 in No. 3 singles matches.
MORE AND MORE WINS
SIUE holds a cumulative singles record of 108-49 (68.8 percent) for the season. The Cougars are 54-18 (75 percent) in doubles matches.
SERIES MATCHUPS
SIUEÂ is 7-8 all-time against Eastern Illinois but has swept the Panthers 7-0 in each of the last two meetings.
YEAR FIVE
Adam Albertsen is in his fifth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous four years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 16-5 dual meet record.
