EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom according to Academic Progress Rate date released Tuesday by the NCAA.
Cougar programs combined for an average APR score of 992, higher than the national average of 984 and two points higher than one year ago. In addition, five SIUE programs achieved APR scores of 1,000. Golf, softball, tennis, women's cross country and volleyball each earned perfect APR scores.
In total, 13 of SIUE's 14 programs met or exceeded the national average for their sport.
The current scores are a four-year average. The most recent data covers the 2018-19 through 2021-22 academic years.
Following a one-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the APR data was released again last year. Public recognition awards and penalties will resume in 2024.
