EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Nate Wemstrom (Villa Park, Illinois) has transferred to SIUE and will join the Cougars' wrestling team this upcoming season.

Wemstrom transferred to SIUE from Nebraska where he posted a 10-2 record as a redshirt for the Cornhuskers. He placed first at the Younes Hospitality Open and fourth at the Grand View Open while recording one pin and five major decisions.

Slated to be a 184- or 197-pounder for the Cougars, Wemstrom won a 2A state championships in Illinois during the 2021-22 season for Aurora Christian High School. He also was a 2022 Cadet Greco-Roman World Team member.
