Two Cougars Earn Top-10 Finishes as Golf Takes Fifth at Air Force

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – SIUE golf fired the third-lowest round of the day Tuesday, carding a 283, to tief for fifth place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, hosted by the Air Force Academy.

The Cougars combined to shoot 867 (+3) to finish within fives strokes of a runner-up finish. Colorado State won the team competition at 851 (-13).

The 283 on Tuesday is among the 25 lowest team rounds in school history. The 867 is among the 20 lowest 54-hole totals in school history.

Individually, TJ Baker finished three-under par (213) to tie for seventh place. Sophomore Brady Kaufmann tied his career low with a 66 Tuesday to vault him to his second career top-10 finish. He was tied for ninth at 215 (-1).

Anthony Ruthey tied for 35th at 219. Luke Ludwig finished at 221 to tie for 47th. Brent Reintjes finished at 234.

The Cougars will play next at UT Martin's Grover Page Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
