EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Sophomore
Yasha Schaerer (Zurich, Switzerland) from the men's soccer team received Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week Honors after his performance against Lindenwood September 28.
Schaerer put the Cougars on top just 46 seconds into the match when he curled a free kick into the lower left corner from 30 yards out. The Cougars led 1-0 into half time and doubled the advantage just over eight minutes into the second half off a corner. Schaerer sent the corner across the six-yard box, assisting the second goal of the game.
The Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week Honors an SIUE student-athlete who demonstrated excellence in competition.
