NEWTON, KAN. – Alex Eickhoff carded a 69 to tie for seventh at Wichita State's Grier Jones Shocker Invitational completed Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Club. The Cougars finished third as a team.

SIUE combined for a 294 Tuesday and finished at 869 (+5) and finished five strokes back of host Wichita State, who have won the event each of its three years. Incarnate Word edged the Cougars for runner-up status, finishing just one shot better than SIUE.

Eickhoff finished at 215 (-1) to lead the Cougars. He moved from 24^th at the start of the day-earning his third top-10 finish this season. Will Simpson finished at 215 (E) to tie for 11^th. Brady Kaufmann tied for 19^th at two-over. Brent Reintjes tied for 26^th and Max Bruening tied for 78^th.

Preston Bily, who played as an individual, tied for 61^st at 231.

Xavier's Kellen Dean won Individual Medalist honors at 209 (-7).

The Cougars return to the course Monday and Tuesday when they conclude their fall schedule at the Everett Buick GMC Classic, hosted by Little Rock.
