Davian Guanajuato and Marcel Lopez got the Cougars started quickly with a technical fall and a major decision, respectively at 125 and 133 pounds.

Danny Martinez began the string of first-period falls at 141 pounds. Hayden Whidden (149), Brock Woodcock (157), Nick Nosler (197) and Jake Fernandez (285) also recorded first-period falls for the Cougars.

SIUE also picked up technical falls by Hayden Shepherd (165) and Deron Pulliam (184).
