EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE women's basketball continues its 2024-25 season campaign with Roosevelt University. The Cougars (0-3, 0-0 OVC) are set to take on the Lakers (1-3, 0-0 GLIAC) November 19. Tip off is set for 6:00 p.m. at Frist Community Arena.
LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars dropped a competitive match up against Loyola Chicago. SIUE is now 0-9 against Loyola in the all-time series.
COLLEGE DEBUT:
Meegan Fahy has played two games for SIUE making her debut as a starter against UMSL.
Rory Conboy has also seen minutes against UMSL and Murray State.
Olivia Loveland and
Alexis Warren made their debut for the Cougars against Murray State.
THREE FOR THE E: Transfer
Kendal George led the team in points (12) against Loyola. George was a key player banking three three-pointers making it a five point game for the Cougars.
BRI:
Brianna Wooldridge currently leads the team in points (37) averaging 12.3 a game. She put up 12 points against UMSL,15 against Murray state, and 10 points against Loyola.
SILVEY LINING:
Macy Silvey currently leads the team in three points made (5) averaging 1.7 per game. She also leads in free throws going 4-4 on the season.
TEAM RANK: SIUE leads the OVC in Bench points per game (29.7), this is also good for 50th in the nation
REBOUND:
Ava Gugliuzza leads the team in rebounds (11) averaging 5.5 pregame. Gugliuzza has taken charge in defensive rebounds for the Cougars.

FRESHMAN ADDITIONS: SIUE added five freshman in the off season,

AT THE HELM:
Samantha Quigley Smith is beginning her fourth season in charge of the Cougars and 12th season as a head coach. She owns a 27-65 record at SIUE and is 17-34 against conference opponents. All-time, Coach Smith is 211-161.
PRESEASON HONORS: The preseason Ohio Valley Conference Poll predicted an eighth-place finish for the Cougars tied with UT Martin. Southern Indiana was selected as regular season champions with 20-first place votes. Graduate guard
