EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE wrestling won the first six matches of Friday's Mid-American Conference dual meet against Buffalo and went on to a 28-10 victory at First Community Arena.

SIUE improved to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the MAC. Buffalo dropped to 2-8 and 1-2 in the MAC.

With the dual starting at 197 pounds, SIUE's Nick Nosler set the pace early with a 14-2 major decison over Buffalo's Lonnell Owens-Pabon.

Bryson Buhk matched Nosler's major decision with one of his own, a 10-2 triumph at heavyweight over Buffalo's Jack MacDonald.

Davian Guanajuato (125), Marcel Lopez (133), Danny Martinez (141) and Hayden Whidden (149) added consecutive victories. Martinez provided SIUE's lone pin of the dual, a 3 minute, 35-second victory over Andy Lucinsky.

Luke Odom provided the seventh win of the dual for the Cougars at 174 pounds. The Edwardsville native competed in his first-ever match for SIUE at First Community Arena and collected a commanding 12-0 victory over Rafael Knapp.

SIUE now heads to the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships Dec. 29-30.
