INDIANAPOLIS - Brock Woodcock dominated the 157-pound weight class at the Greyhound Open Sunday, earning a tournament title.

Woodcock, a freshman from St. Clair, Missouri, won all five of his matches with bonus points, including a fall and four technical falls. He won his title match 15-0 over Illinois unattached wrestler Logan Swaw.

"Brock missed some events early in the season," said SIUE Head Coach Jeremy Spates. "He needed some matches, and he wanted to go out there and help his winning percentage. He went out there and got a lot of wins an a lot of bonus points so that was good for him."

Woodcock is now 12-5 overall this season.

SIUE newcomer Gavin Alexander also advanced to the finals, ultimately taking second place at 133 pounds.

The Cougars also had several top eight finishes: Danny Martinez (4th/41), Alec Peralta (7th/149), Hayden Whidden (8th/149), Braxton Strick (5th/157), Hayden Shepherd (5th/165), Lane Robinson (6th/165), and Nick Nosler (7th/197).

"It was good for some of these guys, especially the redshirts, some good matches," added Spates.

Strick also had the most pins of the tournament (four) in the fastest cumulative time (6:41).

SIUE's next action is one week from today when it travels to Little Rock to face off against CSU Bakersfield and host Little Rock.
