EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE softball outfielder Jenna Herron (West Frankfort, Illinois) has earned Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week honors following her performance over the weekend at Lindenwood.
The senior went 1-for-3 with a two-run RBI double in the top of the fourth inning en route to SIUE's 10-0 win over the Lions in game one on Saturday. Herron added a pair of base hits in game two, driving in Amber Morgan in the top of the second.
On Sunday, the senior went 1-for-3 with a walk and came around to score in the sixth inning.
Herron ranks second on the Cougars and sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference with a .400 (24-for-60) batting average. Her .478 on-base percentage stacks up ninth in the league.
The Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week honors an SIUE student-athlete who demonstrated excellence in competition.
