NASHVILLE BOUND
The Cougars face Tennessee State in a three-game series in Nashville, Tennessee, beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and concluding with a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
SIUE swept a doubleheader last Saturday from Western Illinois, downing the Leathernecks 14-0 in five innings and 4-2 in the nightcap.
LONGEST HITTING STREAK
Paige Rocha broke the school record for consecutive games with a hit at 29 games. The streak ended in game two of a doubleheader. Rocha broke the prevous record of 27 set by Erin Newman in 2001.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Rocha hit .600 for the week. She recorded six hits, including a double and a triple with five runs batted in. She leads the OVC in batting average (.455), hits (60) and doubles (15). Rocha is among the NCAA Division I leaders in each of those statistical categories. She tops the OVC with a .500 batting average in conference play with 26 hits in 15 league contests.

SIUE leads the series with Tennessee State 22-6. The Cougars took two of three games last season in a series in Edwardsville. SIUE has won six of the last seven games.

Lone Tree, Iowa, native Ben Sorden is in his second season as head coach of the Cougars. Sorden came to SIUE after holding positions at Michigan State and Indiana, helping the pitching staffs to national honors and top-notch results.
