TWO FOR THE WEEKEND
SIUE women's tennis welcomes Eastern Illinois for a 3 p.m. match Saturday and then heads to Evansville, Indiana, for a 1 p.m. match Sunday against Southern Indiana.
WEEKLY HONORS
Margaux Guibal Britt, playing No. 1 singles last week against McKendree and Lindenwood, was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after a pair of straight sets wins. She became the fifth different singles player this season to earn weekly OVC honors. Guibal Britt and
Amelia Gorman also were named the OVC Doubles Team of the Week.
OVC PLAY
SIUE is in third place in the OVC with a 2-1 record. Southern Indiana has an extra match in league play so far and holds second place with a 3-1 record.
SERIES RECORD
SIUE and Eastern Illinois each have eight wins in the series. SIUE has won the last three meetings against the Panthers. Southern Indiana leads the series against SIUE 11-9.
GORMAN CONTINUES WIN STREAK
Gorman leads the Cougars with a 23-3 record this season. She has won her last nine singles matches in a row.
YEAR SIX
Adam Albertsen, who recently recorded his 200th dual match as a collegiate coach (men's and women's tennis), is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of the previous five years. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 17-5 dual meet record.
