NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Alex Eickhoff finished second as SIUE golf concluded its regular season Tuesday, finishing fifth at Tennessee State's Big Blue Classic. The tournament marks the Cougars' sixth top-five finish this season.
The Cougars finished at 855 (+3). Samford and Belmont tied for the top team spot at three-under. Austin Peay was third at even-par.
Eickhoff, along with Luke Ludwig, TJ Baker and Brady Kaufmann all finished in the top 10 individually.
Eickhoff finished as the runner up at 206 (-7) which is the best 54-hole total of his career. Eickhoff finished six strokes behind Belmont's Michael Senn, who earned Individual Medalist Honors after posting a 63 (-8) in Tuesday's final round.
Luke Ludwig finished at five-under 208 and was fourth overall.
TJ Baker tied for sixth at 210 (-3). Baker carded rounds of 70-69-71 and now owns the school record with 42 career rounds of par or better.
Kaufmann finished tied for 10th at 212 (-1).
Brent Reintjes tied for 51st and Anthony Ruthey tied for 65th place.
The Cougars will now prepare for the Ohio Valley Conference Championship which takes place April 21-14 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
