NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
This is SIUE's third appearance at the NCAA Division I Championships and the 13th NCAA Championship overall. SIUE previously appeared at the Division I Championships in 2016 and 2017.
NCAA BRACKET
SIUE battles sixth-seeded Pepperdine in the opening round of the Championships. The winner moves on to face the winner of the Arizona State/Northwestern matchup.
OVC CHAMPIONS
SIUE won the 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Championship with a 4-1 win over Southeast Missouri. The Cougars lost to Southeast Missouri 6-1 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, during the regular season. As the No. 2 seed, SIUE won OVC Championship matches over Western Illinois, Southern Indiana and Southeast Missouri.
SERIES RECORD
This is the first-ever meeting between SIUE and Pepperdine.
OVC POSTSEASON AWARDS
SIUE women's tennis captured five spots on the All-Ohio Valley Conference women's tennis team with three first team and two second team honorees. It was the most honorees in a single season by the Cougars and the most first team honorees.
Margaux Guibal Britt,
Jill Lambrechts and
Jordan Schifano were selected to the first team.
Amelia Gorman and
Fabiola Perez were tabbed for the second team. The doubles team of Guibal Britt and Gorman as well as Lambrechts and Schifano were named All-OVC for their doubles play. Both doubles teams earned honors for a second straight season. For Schifano, it was her fourth consecutive season of being honored by the OVC.
OVC WEEKLY AWARDS
In the 12 weeks of the regular season, SIUE has snapped up weekly OVC awards in seven of those weeks. Lambrechts (Jan. 23/Feb. 20), Schifano (Jan. 30),
Stefaniya Anikina (Feb. 27), Gorman (Mar. 12) and Guibal Britt (April 2) each have won Player of the Week.
YEAR SIX
Adam Albertsen, who recorded his 200th dual match as a collegiate coach (men's and women's tennis), is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Cougars. SIUE has increased its win total in each of his six seasons. Last season, the Cougars completed play with a 17-5 dual meet record.
