ST. CHARLES, Mo. – SIUE was unable to clinch their second game against Lindenwood.
Macy Silvey put up 19 points for the Cougars, marking her fifth game of the season as the scoring leader.
The Cougars fall to 4-16 and 2-9 in the OVC, while the Lions improve to 13-7 and 9-2 in the OVC.
The Lions took an early lead in the first quarter with Justis Odom opening the scoring. Silvey hit a three-pointer with three seconds left in the first quarter making the score 23-10, keeping the Cougars in the game.
In the second quarter Silvey found her groove making three of her four three-pointers in the second quarter.
Kendal George fed off this momentum sinking her own three-pointer after
Jaiden Bryant collected a defensive rebound with 1:21 to go in the second quarter.
However, Mya Skoff hit a three-pointer with ten seconds on the clock, giving the Lions a 12-point lead right before halftime.
Lindenwood kept their pace into the third quarter. They were able to get a 23-point lead, their largest of the game when Skoff hit another three-pointer as the clock hit zero. Skoff led the Lions with 20 points.
Rory Conboy ended the game hitting a jumper in the paint for the Cougars.
Kendall George had a strong performance putting up 12 points for SIUE marking her second game of the season scoring in double digits. George went 4-8 from the three-point range.
Jaiden Bryant grabbed seven rebounds making this her seventh game as rebounding leader.
As a team the Cougars connected on 42 percent (27-64) of their shots from the field making 36 percent (14-38) of them from beyond the arc. They also had 31 points off the bench, 20 points in the paint, and 25 rebounds.
