EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Graduate students
Ethan Hackenberg (Pittsburg, Pa.) from men's soccer has received Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week Honors after his performance against Western Illinois Nov. 9.
Hackenberg scored the first two goals of his career to lead SIUE men's soccer into the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. These goals helped the fourth-see Cougars shut out No. 5 WIU.
The first goal came 10 minutes into the first half. An assist from
Mathias Clausen set Hackenberg up for a header into the bottom right corner. In the 56
th minute a penalty kick resulted in Hackenberg's second goal.
The Prairie Farms Cougar of the Week Honors an SIUE student-athlete who demonstrated excellence in competition.
