Ring Malith (Twic, South Sudan) from men's basketball and Senior
Caleb Tyus (Bethalto, Ill.) from men's wrestling received Prairie Farms Cougars of the Week Honors after their performances against Drake Nov. 14 and Northwestern Nov. 15.
It was a week of upsets for the Cougars as men's basketball took down the Drake Bulldogs of the Missouri Valley Conference and wrestling toppled the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten.
On Friday in Des Moines, senior
Ring Malith of men's basketball hit a 15-foot game winner with less than two seconds left to lift the Cougars to a 61-59 win over Drake. Malith finished the game with 20 points.
On Saturday in Edwardsville, wrestling beat Northwestern 20-13, propelled by redshirt senior
Caleb Tyus. Ranked No. 18 nationally by Flowrestling, Tyus pinned Sam Cartella in 3 minutes, 30 seconds to electrify the crowd and give the Cougars their first lead of the dual.
