Men's Basketball Opens 2025-26 Season Tuesday at Home

SIUE opens its 58th season of men's basketball Tonight against East-West University. The program's all-time record stands at 718-824.
The Cougars are 26-31 in season openers. SIUE is 40-17 all-time in home openers and have won their last four in a row.
SIUE won 12 games at home each of the last two years where they are 24-5.
SIUE opened the year with a 100-60 win over St. Ambrose in exhibition play.
Seven returners accounted for 75 of the Cougars' 100 points in the game.
SIUE got points from 12 of the 13 players who appeared in the game.
The Cougars have eight newcomers on this year's team, including three true freshman and five transfers.
Three of SIUE's transfers are Division I transfers in Harrison Alexander (Mississippi State), Jack Campion (Southern Indiana) and Darius Robinson (Oral Roberts).

Brian Barone is in his seventh season as Head Coach. He has a career record of 86-103 at SIUE.
